Warehouses and distribution centers

Truck driver queue for warehouses and distribution centers

A driver scans the QR code at the gatehouse, enters the plate number and phone, and waits in the cab instead of at the dispatcher window. The warehouse clerk presses Next, the driver gets "Please drive up to gate 3" in Telegram or as a browser push, and the board at the gates shows the number and calls it out loud. The dispatcher sees how many trucks are waiting and stops answering "when is my turn" calls.

Sound familiar?

Drivers crowding the window

Drivers stand at the dispatcher window so they do not miss their turn and argue about who came first. A paper log at the gatehouse does not settle it.

Calls asking when it is my turn

The dispatcher spends half the day answering calls from cabs while trucks at the gates sit idle.

Idle trucks and penalties

A truck waits for hours, gates are idle one moment and jammed the next. Detention time turns into penalties under the carriage contract and unhappy carriers.

How this works where you are

Create a queue from the Warehouse template

The template sets up four gates, Loading, Unloading and Documents services and a driver form: plate number, phone, carrier and waybill number. Everything can be changed in the settings.

A QR code at the gatehouse

The driver scans it with a phone, with no app and no signup. The plate can be typed any way, lower case or mixed letters, and is brought to one format.

Call trucks to the gates

The clerk presses Next at their gate. The driver gets a notification with the gate number and the board announces the call out loud.

03

What you will actually use

Plate number instead of a name

A Plate number field in the form: the number is brought to one format and the clerk sees it as a plate next to the ticket number. If you want, the plate of the called truck also shows on the board.

A board at the gates with voice

Any TV or tablet with a browser: "U-024, gate 3" in large type and out loud. Included in the free plan.

Loading, unloading, documents

Each operation is a service with its own ticket letter, and a gate is offered only its own tickets. Business plan.

Arrival slots

Carriers book a time slot by link in advance, the driver gets a reminder and checks in on arrival. Booking by time is on the Business plan.

Stepped away from the truck

A second call puts the driver back in line once instead of marking a no-show: they may have gone to the office or for a coffee.

Gate load in numbers

Trucks served, average waiting and time at the gate by hour and gate. Daily stats are free, analytics over a period is on the Business plan.

Common questions

No. Scanning the QR code opens the line in the phone browser, with no app and no signup. People see their number, how many are ahead and roughly how long it will take.

A company truck plate usually is not, but the decision is yours. The plate never shows on the board until you turn on Show the plate number on the display, and even then only for the truck being called.

Yes. On Business these are two queues side by side: one for carriers who book a time, one by QR for trucks that arrive without a slot. On Business Pro booked and walk-in trucks share one line.

Your staff can add that person to the line by hand in one tap, or you can put a tablet by the door as a kiosk: press the button, get a number, print a paper ticket if you want one. The board calls numbers out loud, so nobody has to watch a screen.

One or two desks run free: up to two windows per account and two staff accounts per queue, notifications via Telegram and browser push, a display board with voice call-ups, a kiosk and daily stats. Business is $49 a month for 10 windows and adds services with routing, appointments, your own branding and analytics over any period. Business Pro is $79 a month for 30 windows: no badge from us, Excel export, forecasting, a network of branches and integrations. Extra windows are added one at a time; you pay for windows, not for locations or visitors. Business Pro is on for 5 days when you sign up, and no card is asked for.
